not necessarily but you wouldn't know for certain until it was stripped, ive seen worse still running fineThanks Snooper. I would as a matter of course, strip whatever engine and have it all checked by my engineer before I build it back up but I reckon by those endfloats, if I can feel it, its probably a basket case?/
check the oil pressure as well, low oil pressure can indicate worn crank journals, I had a v6 Essex good oil pressure when almost disappeared when warn and got a steady knock from the mains when warm on tick over, a regrind sorted it allI guess so. Presumably if its running but has some endfloat, its only going to be worn soft thrust and they will still be protecting the harder crank journal and block? Strip down and replacement after a crank check/grind will suffice.
chickenWell ill be having a look at a 1500 T reg midge on Saturday. Watch this space. Apparently recently pro resprayed so if anything was covered up in the paint job ill spot it. If however its been done in celly......................Next!
I had to remove household gloss from a car once which is worse then celly it just doesn't sand well at allProbably but I don't really relish the mess to remove it all. Too old
Id love a Zeph, corsair, hunter etc but its getting the bits. There are lots available for the current Mk1 escort resto but still not nearly enough.
