I wish the pound was that strongI've held a piston from a Honda 250 6cyl but can't imagine the valves and pitons from the 125 5cyl or 50 twin, Tommy Robb reckoned that went over 22000rpm.Even more than my FZR

Did you watch the Allen Millyard you tube stuff when he made his Honda 6 cyl replica? If you haven’t it’s well worth a look. Mind blowing stuff!
Had a 400/4 for a while. Had an Alpha 4-1 pipe on but whoever did it never bothered re-jetting. Sounded AWESOME, powerband of about 300rpm, head gasket every other week. Even putting a Dunstall pipe on and several dyno sessions never improved the bloody thing. Swapped if for a T150 Trident. Honda snapped the crank a month later400/4 is a jewel of a machine. Bumped into one recently while out on the trusty Fazer.

BEST BIKE EVER
. Had one for a couple of years back in the day. Bought it off my mate who won Auto 66 open and prodie championships on it. I ran it on road and sprinting, sadly the motor ended up in the race outfit when we needed a quick replacement and the chassis got bought by another mate who used it as base for a drag bike. Would have another tomorrow if the prices weren't so salty.
I used to do the same on my FZR - but it wasn’t the SP. I’d ride it to a track day do a few sessions in my jeans and combat boots and then ride home. Seemed a good idea at the time (late 90s). Also rode it about 350km with a snapped clutch cable on one trip. Bike was awesome. Rattled horribly at idle - I tried several times to shim the exhaust valve with no luck and I think it had been properly raced in a previous life but never let me down.I'm a massive grey import fan, anyone remember the Grey Bike magazine? This little FZR400 certainly showed a few big bikes up round Silverstone on one trackday
I just had the thing flat out most of the way round, 15500 rpm redline, it gets another 500rpm on top of the standard bike as it an SP modelView attachment 357276
