The front and rear panels are very poor quality, just glued together to make the pockets. I would stitch around the replacements.

have you look at these strip type led lights vs the ones you have? need something cheap n chearfull for a rented garage

if you leave the front open in gales ,then you need an escape hole at the rear,otherwise it could take off.

a small update of a long saga

I ordered a new front panel on 27/01/17 (and paid for it), and they said it would take about 3 months as they didn't have any in stock, so I waited 3 months and gave them a call, and they said it would be here in July. I called in July and they said it had been shipped from the far east and would be here in August. In September I called and they said they had one in stock and would ship it out. 2 weeks later I called and they advised that they never had one in stock, but but it was due in mid October from the far east, so I should recieve it by the end of October. I've called them again and they've told me that the ones that arrived were the wrong colour (green instead of grey) so they sent them back to the supplier. they then asked if I want another one or a refund........yes I still want one, and colour wasn't an issue for me, they could have contacted me to see if I'd have taken it.

Clarke don't reply to emails which would be my prefered option, so you have to hope that when you phone you can get through to someone rather than going to an answer machine

sometimes you just can't make it up.

In June I sent an e-mail about a back panel and was told they didn't stock them and I would have to pay for one before they would order it, so I phoned and ordered one, it turned up a couple of weeks later. It's odd we're dealing with the same company with such different results.

yeah in the past I've had no issues with Clarke for spare parts for my welders. I wish I was as lucky as you with getting the front panel for the tent. I'm not even having a rant here about them, Ive only posted this as I now find it funny that the parts they received were the wrong colour so they got sent back to the far east. for me the front panel would have functioned the same if it was bright pink.

it would also aid it if you could fit another pole from one side to other where roof line starts as it would keep its shape much better

I finally got round to doing that last weekend

checking the slopes of the legs of the tent

and bending some 2.5mm thick steel in a bender sold for 1.0mm thick steel

I do like these type of digital angle gauges for doing things like this, I've had this one a few years now, but you can get chinese ones delivered from the uk for £11, for rough work like this they are accurate enough

the tubes I used were 25mm galvanized conduit, while it was easy enough to grind the zinc off the outside, I think the welds would have been badly contaminated, especially as I decided to TIG the conduit to the brackets

and the bracket screwed in place

and the the finished item.

so when used with the diagonal ratchet tie downs it does make a big difference to the frameworks rigidity. also it gives me somewhere to hang things from if I need to paint them, which was the deciding factor on doing this.

I have decided that there is far too much condensation in these during winter (even without the front panel), so now its empty until next spring.

ohh another update......

....I got the new front panel in February this year, and one day I'll get round to fitting it

there are a few rips in the cover where it rubs against the steel frame, so a few weeks ago I thought I'd patch it up with duct tape.....but after the hot weather it started to unstick itself

I did keep part of the front panel that got ripped in the gales a while ago, so thought I'd stick that over the rips with contact glue. its easier to apply the adhesive to a flat surface, so in the centre sections, a piece of wood can be wedged between the frame and cover

the edges are a bit more complicated and needs to be supported on bits of wood clamped to the frame

for applying the adhesive to patch and cover without making too much mess I came up with this idea

tape the patch along its top edge so its like a hinge, then mask off the sides and bottom of where the patch will go, then fold the patch back and mask under the patch, then apply the contact adhesive with a spreader

then stick the patch down using a roller (the hard surface of the wood helps with this). then remove the masking tape, and the finished repair looks like this

hopefully it'll last longer than the duct tape.

one thing that has surprised me is how the bottom of the legs of the frame are splitting, guess they take a pounding in the wind

I ended up having to cut the cover on mine in the winds. Neighbours had some builders in doing some work on their drive and for whatever reason they’d pulled the pegs out all along one side it was trying to take off so the best I could do was cut the cover and drag it over

If you want a good duct tape that seems to be OK in all weathers, try Gorilla Tape. I have had it on the tailgate of my L200 for over a year now, and it still looks as good as new. The normal stuff would only last a few weeks before it started to come apart, but this is brilliant!

and time for another update, this weekend it finally gave up the ghost and it aquired a roof vent

it started as a small hole hole and I had a look before going to work and it was like this. I was going to replace it later this year anyway as it was covered in small holes from the continual flexing in wind. with hindsight I think one having a separate roof and sides would be better (like gala tents) but they dont do them in the size I want which in 4.5m x 3m.

its replacement has been ordered, this time I went for a 4m x 3m galatent PVC carport with sidewalls, and groundbars for £644.97 rather than a 4m x 3m pro PVC marquee (which they told me is exactly the same) but costs £699.98 I did phone them up to ask what the difference was and they said there wasnt any, so best to order before they change the prices.
