Clarke plasma king 35

Hi,
Someone has lent me a clarke plasma king 35, that a customer left them 6 years ago and they have never used. It has done maybe 10 hours work at the most. I connected a air supply up today, plugged it in and nothing happens when you squeeze the trigger. I turns on at he switch, the green light comes on, as do both the amber lights next to it, air supply and thermal overload. I thought it might be not earthing properly on painted steel so I tried cutting the earth clamp, again nothing happened. Anyone have any suggestions of what to do? I've never had anything to do with these new fangled ideas !!

Have you set the air pressure? I think mine works at about 6 bar.

If it is anything like our Hypertherms, unless all the lights are green it won't work as it is sensing problems somewhere.

As a guess i would say the air pressure is too low, or not there at all, and there is a problem with the thermal overload. Could be an expensive repair, and maybe the reason it has sat unused for so long.

Have you searched the internet for the user manual/fault finding checklist?
May be a few simple things to check first.

I didn't do anything to it no, just connected airline up. I didn't know what the amber lights were telling me, until i came home and had a look on goggle. The pressure regulator needle was stuck at 50psi even when air wasn't connected, so I will try a new regulator on it tomorrow. Am i right in thinking 6 bar is about 90psi?

Apparently it was used in doing a escort rally car, and once the project was finished, that was when it was last used

I always go by 1 bar = 14.5 psi.
When I'm floundering with the figures, I simplify & call it 15 psi per Bar.
So 6 bar would be 87 psi. But I'd say 90 is close enough.
