Clarke Mig90en problems

Hi All,

Being a newbie to welders i was kindly given a Mig90en. The only problem is it doesnt work, I was advised it only needs a new power switch and a pcb board.

I have taken the switch apart and everything is ok nice and clean i have replaced the fuse in the plug just incase it was something simple.

So does the pcb affect the power of the the machine? or does anyone have any ideas as to why there is no power?

Just a thought! if the light on the switch had blown would that act like a fuse and stop the power from getting to the rest of the welder??

The light on the switch only comes on then the thermal sensor trips.

Your going to have to check voltages with a meter. The most likely is the small transformer on the PCB.

If the pcb is bust no power gets to the transformer as that is controled by the relay on pcb its tester time if you know which end to hold

if you have continuity across the transformer then it should work. Check for continiuty across all switches and accross the torch switch.

Problem now solved :-)

who ever owned it before me some how muddled up the connections to the power switch! tisk tisk.

Mega pleased it is working, I shall be using it this weekend :-D
