Just a quick question. Would I be better to use Coogar 5 (5% CO2) or 15 (15% CO2) for automotive use? - sills, floor pan and arches I notice the advice in the "Welders" section under Gas Compared seems to be around a 20% mix of CO2 in with the argon, but both BOC and Airproducts recommend 5% for thin metal.
Thanks. It's also slightly cheaper, so that'll do.
From what I can see, Coogar 5 and Argoshield Light are very similar mixes.
I've only gone for Airproducts as they were refreshing helpful and polite - unlike the miserable b*d at BOC who could barely be bothered expend the effort to talk to me.
I feel that good customer service should be rewarded with custom - even though the price works out a little dearer.
I'm now considering switching my Oxy-acetylene over to Airproducts too.
ive done this to my mobile mig,if ya going for a big bottle go argoshield light its more usable than argon co2 or pure argon there to heavy, co2 is ok aslong as ya welding clean metals with a lot of heat, ya big bottle when full is 250 bar and ya baby mig wont take that so het a good set of regs get it right down to around 2 ish should flow fine.
one thing i wil say is hobby migs are light and a w size bottle is bloody heavy strap the bottle to the wall and get a long hose from ya mig to ya regs its safer than a bottle falling on you, or got 50 notes get the mig cart good bit of kit i made mine as im tight lol
