clarke inverter

could anyone advise me if the clarke inverters are a good buy with the tig kit I was looking at the three available in machine mart what do any of you think of these

I have never done any tig welding but I have done mig and a bit of arc welding . I understand you can use these inverters for tig aswell as arc is this correct

They will perform basic "Scratch-Start" TIG yes. DC only which means you can't do Aluminium, great for basic mild steel, stainless steel jobs though. Which model were you looking at? as there may be better spec machines for the same kind of money

Hi there I was looking at the arc/tig 110 . I have a little snapon turbo 130 and wanted something about the same power to use as a arc but would like to learn tig and this seems the best way to go
if you know of any other machine with good back up thats not to expensive

I only use it for light fabrication but to be honest I havnt got a large gas cylinder and the disposable ones are expensive and dont last long so I thought of a arc with a chipping hammer

So this seems the best way to be able to learn tig as i have heard it is harder than mig welding

The Rehmann units are as German as circumcision! (supplied from Germany). A true German quality unit will cost you £400+ base, and £2000+ full spec.
