Clarke Halogen Heaters

Has anyone had any experience with these? Any good?

Want to heat a workshop, un-insulated. The item we use cannot be too noisy as we have visitors and product presentations going on at the same time as it is being used.....

Any alternative ideas?

Matt are you talking diesel or electric the later only heat if you are in front.
Never seen the IRD40 would think it was fairly noisy pump\burner & fan running.

Have you thought of hiring?. We used to hire a few from HSS each winter, don't have to worry about spares, repairs or storing them in the summer

I have looked at it Robo, but the rates that advertise online, it wouldn't be long before we had paid enough to buy one outright. As we only really need one and its not going to be used daily (or even weekly sometimes) I am hopeing that maintanance shouln't be an issue for a good while.

The one I linked too 500e is Diesel/Kerosene/Parafin.

At the moment we have a Propane Space Heater but its not that effective (we have a high ceiling) and its very noisy. I seem to remeber being at a customers once and they had something simerla to the Clarke one and it certainly wasnt silent, but it was no where near as loud as what we have now.

Agreed, but for us it will only be occasional use. It certainly won't be on all day every day, so 14 hours could easily last us 7 working days at 'max' use (eg when we are doing a customer presentation) and probably a month on 'normal' use (eg just putting away stock etc).

I am definately open to suggestions though, we have access to Propane and have 3-ph electricity so if you know of any alternative
