Hi all,
first posting on this forum, I have 30 year old Clarke Pro 90 Mig welder, not been used for many years.
I've tried gasless flux, was a bit spitty, so tried going back to CO2, and the results are inconsistent.
I'm welding 0.8mm mild steel, with 0.8mm wire, got the settings to 1 and Min, and wire speed to 5/6, which is in the manual, but the results are still spitty, just wondering if anyone has any advice on the gas setting 0 - 9, tried 5 and 9, still spitting, managed a clean flow a couple of times on 9, also how tight does the spindle screw that holds the wire spool have to be, and the wire feed top sprung screw ?
All help appreciated
PS, I gave the internal elaectronics all a thorough clean, got new tips, gas sounds like it's coming through the tip ok
