clarke 260TE

kinda need some rather quick advice guys

got chance of a CLARKE WELD MIG 260TE TURBO

thoe it is

400V
3 PHASE
but with no gun with it for 150 in really good nick

it does have 240v displayed as well as the 400v on the front of welder

is it worth getting or not ?

Do you have 3-phase to power it?

It is a 3-phase only machine.

no i dont have a 3 phaze power supply but i do understand that i can get one easy enough by using an inverter

and it would be the cost of the gun as well on top

all depends if its cost effective at the end of the day

You would need a huge inverter (12HP or more) and the MIG will promptly destroy it as they are designed for motors not welders.

A 15-20HP rotary converter and a would work and it would need probably at least 50A supply.

thanks guys was wanting too know if it was cost effective/worth it but as not got the equipment
it would be too much as an extra cost to add on to it

as i was taking the previous advice i had from here on looking for more powerful unit to use on
