hi I've recently purchased a second hand clarke 205te. The shroud was missing from the torch and I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what type of shroud i should be looking for as it seems to have a thread on it but a lot i can find for the clarkes are push fit and i don't want to order the wrong thing its not a euro torch if that helps at all. cheers

Looks like standard Binzel type MB15 spares will fit. If it's in that state check the wire on the roll for rust as it will contaminate the liner and give you problems. I would give the torch and wirefeed a good service then fit a new steel liner anyway so you are starting from scratch with known good parts.
Yeah I've already got a new roll of wire. Can anyone give me a link to what the retaining spring is please. by servicing the wire feed etc do you mean give it a good clean and lube? i will look for a steel liner
I found some that are for the mb15 so will order them now i just didn't want to before as its a euro torch and thought it may be different.

Same people do the shroud. Use the drop down menu.
It is possible to replace the swaneck BUT be careful as that torch looks like the one on my very old clerk and as such does not use the standard ? size thread. Can't recall how I fitted the "new" one to mine (may have had the tap to re tap)

I never realised it was going to be such a pain to get it sorted. I was just thinking because it was a euro torch the shrouds off my old mans hobby clarke would fit! So to fit a new swan neck i would need to tap the torch out to fit the bigger thread on the new swan neck?
might be a stupid question but why are some advertised as right hand and left hand tips etc is that something else i need to be careful when buying?

To be honest when i got it i just thought i required a shroud when i couldn't work out why i couldn't find one thats when i posted on here. From what people are saying i just need to get a spring a shroud I'm going to replace the liner etc just so its good to go. id have to convert it to a euro connection etc to put one of them torches on and its not worth it in my opinion the welder was only a cheap second hand one so just want to spend a little bit of money on it to hopefully turn it into a reasonable machine. only really to be used on car panels etc

In post #6 you said it was a Eurotorch, which is why I suggested a replacement.

So it's a "Hard wired" torch ?
You don't need to replace the swaneck but if you did then check the thread.
