Newbie here. I'm beginning to feel like a complete moron. I recently purchased a used Clarke 180 EN mig welder. The welder did not come with a tank or regulator. I purchased a tank and a Clarke/Craftsman regulator. Now the problem. The Clarke mig welder has a hard plastic 3/16" gas line.
The regulator gas outlet fitting is a 1/4" barb type fittings. Obviously these two won't connect and the 3/16" gas line has such a small inside diameter it's not going to fit over any barb fitting and will therefore require a compression fitting. I've been to every welding supply store and hardware store within 100 miles and nobody can tell me how to connect the 3/16" gas line to the regulator or provide a new compression fitting that will allow me to connect the gas line to the regulator. I've searched forums high and low and nobody else seems to have this problem as I've never seen any reference to this issue. Other people have got to have this same welder and solved this problem without issue. Clarke is out of business so I can't call them. So I'm back to feeling like a moron again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know here has to be a simple solution but I can't find it.
Thanks
Brad
