I'm looking to do some work on my car soon at home. I'm a beginner although have done (and passed) a Level 1 welding course at local college. Not done bodywork welding before but I'm determined to give it a go as I'm treating it as a learning project.
I need a welder that is suitable for rotisserie build and then car panels, sills and maybe chassis rails.
I'd prefer with gas as that's what I used at college (although that welder was a kemppi so was really spoilt
) and I think I'll get better welds with gas.
I only have standard 13 amp supply so some units aren't suitable.
Reading on weldequip, the Clarke 160TM seems to give a good range and crucially can also be run off domestic supply.
Is it going to be a good buy for me ? It's a lot of money but to me seems to fit my needs.
thanks
Paul
