I ran the older version for about 13 years (155T).
A friend bought a 160TM and I gave it a try. It allowed a good range of different wire speeds to be used on each power setting, and the wire start up speed was reasonable. Makes it usable on thinner metal.
Other welders in that price bracket don't seem quite so flexible - the ones I've tried (mostly SIPs to be fair) tend to pop and splutter if the wire speed isn't spot on which makes them less flexible.
