Hi guy's what about the new Clarke MIG160TM (Turbo) MIG Welder? It looks and reads like a good welder i think maybe that is the one for me? What about price thow? £310 thats with the VAT?
It would yes, but 5mm is it's capacity. If you want to be welding 3-5mm most of the time I'd be looking at a set with much more guts.
What work do you have in mind?

I just have to weld some tubes and plate 205mm thick to a trike frame (4mm thick).
I now will get a Clarke 165TE
I can only afford £300, and looking for welders all day on E-bay has given me a headache
The difference between the 165 & 160 is negligible, so not worth the extra money in my opinion. TIG is better for tubular welding so that's another option to consider, also allows you to weld much thicker material than MIG by switching to MMA (Stick) welding.
Don't forget the gas, you can budget the thick end of another £100 on top for that

I have a 160EN, used most days for sills, floors and some chassis, bang for bucks - excellent!! I honestly dont think you will be disappointed with that machine.
i need a welder for my land rover project, need it for sills, boot floor, rear crossmember and some chassis patching would u say this will be a good starting welder for this work
