Clarke 160 TM

iv got a little project on the go and its basically a beefy 40x40x5mm angle iron frame for a large work bench in my new garage/workshop and im also in the run for a new welder, iv got my eye on a clarke 160 TM from weldequip and i was wondering how well it would cope with the 5mm welds

so any ideas folks would be greatly appreciated

Also what size fuse to they run on e.g. 240v 16A blue plug or a bog standard 13A jobby ??

hey, dont know much about the machine but im guessing its 160 amps?, if so they yes it would be fine for 5mm angle, probably best leaving a 2 or so mm gap between them though , and they should be run of a 16 amp blue socket and fuse but youll get away with a 13 amp standard one, the worst that can happen is the fuse will blow, just use a decent quality plug and not a 10 pence bargain bucket job

cheers bawjaws leaving a cap sounds like a good idea to me, and iv got the capabilities to use a 16A supply so il go for that if needs be

Why not use a welders plug (white round pinned) same idea as the blue 16amp but allot cheaper and less bulky. All you will need is the plug and socket.

officially it needs a bigger plug, but mine runs fine on a 13A
