Clarke 160 TM replacement wire sleeve

Hi

Has anyone out there ever swapped the wire sleeve on a Clarke 160 TM. I'm sure its fairly straight forward but as ever theres nothing in the manual.

Look in the MIG welding section in the above top bar, there is a piece demonstrating replacing the sleeve. Link below, hope this is of help?

I took the bull by the horns and got on with it. I've just come in from doing mine which was fairly straightforward. The replacement Clarke sleeve is longer than my current 160, (standard torch hose length was always a issue with this unit) so I trimmed it of with a disk cutter making sure that it was burr free. Also ground the end nice and flat which is one of the recommendations on this site, http://markthewelder.co.uk/id42.html. Its a bit of a fiddle to get it through the hose and the method for fixing at the welder end, a plastic clamp, is a bit different, but other than that a piece of cake.

Now back to the car welding.
