it depends on why you want to upgrade it. they may be able to handle higher currents (6mm tips instead of 5mm tips), but they are still only 2.5m long. most people wanting to change the torch would fit a euro torch and separate gas valve, that is electrically operated (the clarke has a manual valve in the torch handle).
I like the original torch as its smaller than the euro torch handle and its easier to purge gas with the manual valve, so I ended up modifying the torch on mine

Cheers guys the reason im asking tbe question is that the torch iv got is behond repair so either make my own up like you have or get one for the a welder with a bit more power but thats the only differance is the different tips just wundered if any one had done it before ...cheers
