Clarke 151EN. deal or no deal?

So I have been keeping an eye out on ebay for a min welder to get me started as a hobby (becomes essential when you own a CRX).
I won the auction last night for 137. The guy said I could view it working. When I got there he had tried to get it running but the wire was slightly corroded so had become jamed in the sleeve. Long story short. I don't know if it works yet but I got it for 70 which included a brand new unused bottle regulator with duel dials which was not part of the auction.
So I figure the regulator is which I would of had to buy is at least 40.
So makes the welder purchase around 30.
Cracking deal if it works I think, but it is a little untidy and the inside is very dusty.
What does everyone else think

Good deal. A new liner, spare tips, shroud and wire and you should be ready to go. All stuff you would need as regular maintenance.

Looks like a good deal. It only looks to be dusty rarther than rusty so has been kept somewhere dry? Leads look good (and new) with the tourch exit from machine not looking damaged! Does the tourch look battered, that usually a sign of a high milage/well used machine. Give it a good blow through esp the wire feed motor to clear of dust and grit. New liner (trip to MM or local welding supplies) and remove any rusted wire. I woulkd say down the pub fo a gas cylinder but the reg looks to have a Ar/CO2 type fitting rarther than a CO2 type. Note some of the hobby gas suppliers supply there Ar/CO2 gas wit a CO2 type connector and some with a Ar/CO2 type just to confuse!!

ps what are you working on that takes crossply tyres?

Sound good then,
Will find out whether it a bummer or not tomorrow when i take it to my friends to try,
I will order all those bits anyhow to give it a bit of a service.
After reading the very informative info on this site, ive decided to go with BOC argoshield, which i believe the regulator i have will fit. They do handy 2ltr bottles now, £18 rent per year, £15 refill, sound OK to me.

Oh, and the tyres are from my bateson car trailer, im just about to start my 2nd year at hillclimbing, so at current ive got a trailer, campervan, honda crx to weld, hence why i would like to learn myself rather than pay somebody.
