Clarke 120

Dear Mig-Welding forum.

I threw caution to the wind and bought a MIG 120, its a fairly old unit, but cost next to nothing...

I haven't had chance to fire it up yet, as no wire and no gas...

Anyway!

Any thoughts on the machine? my intentions were to replace the clarke connector with a euro connector and new torch with metal liner - pending all appears to work OK

I dont s'pose anyone has any tips/suggestions/thoughts on what torch to buy/whether its actually worth it for a newbie to do a tiny little bit of welding every now and again.

Would love to learn TIG due to the way they look (on Ti bike frames!!)

i have just don't the euro conversion on my Clarke as i got fed up with the poo torch (hard to feel little trigger with gloves and my big hands) I started a thread on the conversion and will update later today. However no sooner have i finished and i got to the bottom of why the power seamed to drop off after a while (main tranformer burnt out). Run with the old torch and see how you get on you can get a metal liner for that one from MM or even better Weldequip on here and get tips a a couple of shrounds as you kill them practicing
