Hi,
I have an old clarke 120, bought it from ebay ages and ages ago and was going to sell it to a chap on here, but work got in the way and I didnt get round to it.
I have a day off today and thought i'd take a butchers.
opened the lid up and can see a gas solenoid on the inside. on the front of the case there is a mini-din connector with 3 pins... two appear to be connected and the 3rd middle one is not.
Looking at the torch, the trigger is wired up red and blue, and at the welder end of the torch, there are 2x blue (with a faint white stripe?) these are unconnected and look like they would connect to the two pins in the torch wirefeed/gas/connector.
the mini din connector was connected to the trigger (with choc blocks).
i can't seem to find the wiring that would have gone to the torch connector (the brass one with wirefeed/gas) the only thing that is connected is the mini din connector.
it looks like its had some work done over the years as some of the wiring on the caps seem fairly new, and there is a choc-block on the connector to the mini din socket.
the process of repairing it is fairly enjoyable but without any wiring info unavailable from clarkes themselves, i'm not sure where to turn other than here... if anyone can shed any light on troubleshooting the old girl, it would be greatly appreciated!!!!
failing repairing it, it'll probably go to the scrap man..
