hi guys
i am new to this forum and found it while searching for some answers regarding my welder.
firstly i am a complete novice to welding, have never before tried or been anywhere near a welder in my 50 years but due to my late onsought of 'change of life' , recent divorce etc etc decided to buy an old landrover to work on, hence the need for a welder (not hard to learn etc etc i heard all over from people).
well if your still reading then i need help with my mig clarke 100e that i bought used thinking it was a bargain, ok changed wire, tip, shroud etc turned it on all ready to go, got a spark and wire going through then a small puff of smoke and no more wire feeding through.
now i have read some of the other things regarding this problem, but dont have a multimeter nor do i want to spend more money on the other things to try and get it sorted.
so is there anywhere that i can take it around the wakefield area who can look at it and tell me what exactly is wrong with it and advise if i should repair or save up for a new one.
your kind help and assistance is very much appreciated
best regards
steve
