Clark 2 ton jack droping

I bought a box of seals from Aldi ages ago thinking one day it’ll come in handy, comes with many different seal sizes and thicknesses, recently my spring compressor stopped working, stripped it down and replaced the seals with ones from that cheap kit.
Works perfectly now
There’s loads of similar kits on eBay and probably Amazon.

Sorry, I seem to have it wrong again. It looks as if it's Clarke that owns Machine Mart, rather than Sealey. Now I can't remember whether my jack is a Clarke or a Sealey.

I've a similar kit made by Silverline, so far virtually every time I've tried to use one it's been slightly wrong. I think I've managed to use one so far, it's a really great feeling when one of them fits.

I have a Sealey "Rocket Lift" jack and the rocket bit doesn't work properly, and when I emailed them for availability of a seal kit they came back to me via Machine Mart to say they don't have kits available for them any more, nor any information on sizes etc. Apparently Sealey own MM - I thought it was the other way around until someone put me straight on here.

Thinking on it now that was the reason we stripped ours down. The high speed bit way not high speeding at all and the low speed was iffy. A strip down, cleannout and change of oil had it back to fighting fit.

On mine, the high speed lift goes up, but it seems to have no strength until I've pumped it up as much as if I hadn't got the high speed lift, which makes it a bit useless. I hope that's all that is wrong with mine. I have a similar spare jack that I was trying to strip down as a test run - I got it for free so have nothing to lose if I can't get it back together - so I ought to try that before I strip the working jack down.

The high speed doesnt have any effort it just raises the jack fast and then as soon as it senses a load it stops going fast and starts working like a normal jack.

It was a while ago and I dont remember the details but I recall that it's a very basic system with a loose ball and a sprung loaded ball or something like that.

I have 4 different o ring kits and it's rare that I get the exact size I need from any of them.
Sometimes you can stretch a thicker but smaller diameter o ring to fit but it's usually a temporary solution.

I had the same issue with my engine hoist until I found a battered old set in the boot fair for 2 quid. The box was all perished and breaking up but it had the exact size I needed for the pump.
