ck cable strippers

was gutted today went to use mine and they had come adrift . when looked they had snapped on one side had them 10 years suppose I cant complain cant even braze or silver solder them back up suppose il have to shell out on new ones

Give them a call.
If it is a defect in the manufacturing they used to replace them.
But if it is wear and tear. But I guess they still strip ok? they may decline it.

What is there to loose?

I've had a pair of CK cutters fail, cutting of all things a plastic cable tie!, one of the jaws fractured. Never bothered contacting CK though, as they were company supplied I just binned them and ordered another one.

A set of CK cutters I had years ago the tip snapped off loosely doing up a 20mm brass bush on some conduit, I never had any trouble with the Knipex ones in 30 years!

big investment today new cable strippers 14 quid from toolstation the electrical wholesalers next door to them wanted 20 quid robbing gits I told them and they called me tight so I said if someone said to you you can go next door and someone's going to give you six quid would you refuse it I think not . the same here . need them for Monday cutting back a lot of 1.0mm cables coming out of the ceiling and are loose plenty to shove back on them . that's about all there good for

yep after stripping cables with snips and holding the cables round 2 fingers while doing so for 47 years got arthritis in them and it hurts all the time

These lights are my favourite but the junction box is badly designed sheath has the be perfect otherwise it just doesn't fit, have to score it with a knife to get it square. terrible design

Has anyone found a decent set of XLPE cable strippers for smaller sizes 4 to 10mm? The 1.5mm and 2.5mm are not to bad with the CK combined notched blade side cutters.
At the moment the only way i have found to get a clean finish is to run a blade around each core, but the skin on the end your finger doesn't last long. 16mm and over isn't too bad.

These are really good. I used to use a seperate wire stripper but these make things quicker and only need a light grip on the T&E for it to strip the inner insulation using the notch cut into the snips.

These and Wago connectors have made my year!

I'm on with rewiring the old fellas place, other than getting a spark in to do all the checks. Spark offered me a job based on the standard of my work

This would be my go to from coax - cat - rubber - flex brilliant tool does require frequent sharpening brilliant on inner sheath of swa.
