Though not knowing the year, all those consumers won't be on the same fuse. I think the elec windows are covered by fuse 3 (30A) for the window relay, fuse 9 (30A) for the windows. Cig lighter by fuse 8 (20A), Horn by fuse 10 (20A). All these fuses also cover other components. Check your handbook, make a note of the fuses applicable to the items that fail and a note of the other consumers on each of those fuses. When the fault is on check to see if any other consumers covered by the fuses are OK. If the other consumers are OK the fault could possibly be on the -ve side, ie a common earth point. If all consumers on the fuses fail then check for +ve at both sides of each fuse. If no +ve here the fault could be with the internal connections within the fusebox.
hello all i dont know who else to ask really - here's the thing zx diesel (old I know) is having age issues, ie the elec roof, elec windows, horn and ciggy lighter all dont work and went the same time!!! As money is very tight - Mrs sees to that, does any one have any suggestions as to what it may be before I employ the auto sparky's skills? Any help/suggestions listened to. Thanks
, have a quick look-see at the horns, from memory the horns are +ve switched and are not ignition controlled so should work ignition off. If they have only one terminal and are earthed via their mounts, only one terminal on the horn, this then leads to a problem on the +ve side. If there are two terminals on the horn, check for +ve at one and -ve at the other.
