I lost 1st 8 months ago after it popping out for a couple of months once being under load, obviously the clutch hand a beating prior to losing first.. I suddenly lost 3rd with the same issue as first, so it was time to go to the van doctor.. it’s been cleared fine… but having received the van back while in first after being under load while accelerating no matter how hard or reserved it’s driven it’s popping out but third is back to normal! Is it the selector or is the problem lying deep in the box itself

Sounds like a knackered synchro hub.
It's a knackered 1st/2nd synchro hub. I have the same problem in my 2014 Dispatch.
If it's the 6 speed bvm6 or ml6c it is not an uncommon problem with that gearbox.
You can get a new hub but it's well over £200 and then you have to strip and rebuild the gearbox plus replace seals and bearings as needed.
I have learned to live with the problem but I have a replacement gearbox to go into the van. It took a while to find one because it has to come from an identical model of the van.
If the gearing is different in the new gearbox it will be detected by the abs sensor and it will put up a fault light.
