I am still trying to find time to finish putting this lathe together. At least it’s now facing the right way on the bench (progress!), and the advice given here about replacement belts is making it not just look like a lathe, but the chuck now spins again.
I have the original 3 jaw chuck fitted, but was thinking it would be a good thing to purchase a 4 jaw chuck. The largest recommended (safety wise) size is, I believe, a 5” chuck, and am happy to buy a cheap (quality ) one. The thing is, I have to admit I’m getting myself a bit lost in finding what chuck I should go for.
There have been a few used ones pop up on fleabay, but being a non techie, I have not a clue as to what will fit. I shall get the 3 jaw out the hut and get measurements, photos, and stuff, but does anyone have advice as to what I should be looking at.
