Chinese Plasma Cutters Safety Warning!

The worst thing is that there's TWO threads running at the same time pretty much discussing THE SAME topic I'm not keen on the idea of locking threads but I wouldn't be upset if either of these two were locked. We all now know what the problem with the machines is and know who stands where on the subject . The weird thing is that the plasmas are the machines with the problem but this thread was started about TIGs or has no-one noticed?

why not combine instead of lock, thats what is usually done on other Forums in a situation such as this.

Hi,

finally, I've modified the cutter with a bicycle handle grip as I suggested earlier.

It's thickish rubber and with the 'blunt' end cut off it's wide enough to just cover the nut and be a smooth, sliding fit, so it won't vibrate off when in use.

In fact, I first had the idea that I would tighten the nut by hand and slide the rubber over it but it's such a good fit that I can actually leave the rubber over the nut and still attach/detach it from the cutter.

Good idea - I've moved them out of that TIG thread - there was a useful thread going on there to start with.

I don't think that's the ones in question, the dodgy ones are the very cheap ones, that one's £600!

My CUT-50 came with an insulating collar to protect the exposed connector.

And as far as my 2 cents worth: If you haven't taken the effort to read and understand the plasma cutting process and realise that there are high voltages involved then you deserve to get you hair fried....

It's a bit like driving a car and not knowing that if you stick your hand in the fan belt it'll cut your hand off or something similar...

I love my chinese kit and wouldn't be without it...
