I use mine on the mill fore "marking out"
My first job using this DRO will be to accurately layout 20-30 precision holes in a plate of aluminium measuring 200x400mm all in metric on a imp machine. Try that without a DRO and having to compensate for backlash.
Not a chance.
I don't need a CNC engraving machine but I have one and do use it!
The old girl is looking good, you won't be able to keep off it now with the DRO and never have to mark a series of holes again.
FYI. I love my Bridgeport.
What you got, I spent 8 year building and servicing them things?
FYI. I love my Bridgeport.
I'm not a fan of guards but Keith Fenner's solution which is a selection of sheet steel pieces with a folded section on the bottom (say 1-2" deep) seems good. He just slots these into the tee slots in the best places to catch any coolant.
A 20 yr old Venture 600 I think it is, made in Italy. 486DX4 100 PC running DOS software. Fun learning how to use it!
FYI I would love one to love and the space to put it in!
It's absolutely unbelievable.....Wallace, you should see the space mine is shoehorned into. Ask @ukracer
