I had this with a dremnel 800. Switch broke and super expensive to replace.Link?
Asking for a friend
I've taken a part a genuine Makita but repair costs were not worth .
New control PCB and stator (sold as single piece by Makita) for 150 euros.
Bare unit is cheaper .
I could take it for me and use parkside batteries
A switch Is not as difficult to find.I had this with a dremnel 800. Switch broke and super expensive to replace.
Tried that once.. ;( no luck.A switch Is not as difficult to find.

I'm running one of these at the mo, £23 I think on eBay it was? Goes against the grain not be the proper Makita colours but the batteries fit OK.

My mate wants one now but all his stuff is DeWalt and they don't copy them yet afaik.
So now I've to design a DeWalt battery to Makita tool battery adapter that I'll get my lad to 3D print.
I think that adaptor is available to buy, look on banggood.
Just looked and they don’t copy Milwaukee to save anyone else searching! Soon I hope
It is, the DM18M I think is the 20V DeWalt to 18V Makita adapter:
[£12.74]Lithium Battery Adapter 18-20V Suitable For DEWALT Makita Decker Porter Tool Accessories from Tools on banggood

but where's the fun in that?
It's not just printing off an adaptor, you have to incorporate the nickel battery connectors within it!
A friend of mine ordered a Knock off Makita cordless grinder for about 60 euros
He said it came identical to Makita even the writings are identical, Makita included
@Aff Good write-up, at that price they're almost 'throw aways' if they develop a fault.
