Chimney liner

Hi

I have bought a liner for my chimney. Any videos i have seen say that there is a right and wrong way to put it in.

Mine has no arrows to show what direction. Any idea ? It's to do with condensation isn't it.

Should the lip be at the bottom.

dosnt matter its getting it up your chimney or down the thing thats the problem

unless its a double wall liner

the best way is other way around male end up female end slots over as the heat gets to pipe it thens seals as it gets hotter

Just a cheap log burner. In my garage.Going to put it down from the top .it's 6m long

You want it so thay any condensation or tar runs down and stays in the flue and appliance at the bottom to either get heated again or burnt.

Most flue pipe systems are designed to go socket up spigot down to prevent stuff running out the joins ..
So is the flexi pipe going in a chimney or just free standing ? Careful to keep it away from anything flammable ..and is that rated for solid fuel or just a gas /oil flue liner ....

Stand on the roof and corkscrew it down.

Yes that was an assessment when i did my apprenticeship, no scaffold or any safety equipment. Those were the days

Drill 10mm hole either side of pipe and tie some nylon cord (the regular blue stuff) and loop it so the rope comes out the inside of pipe.Shape the end into a pointed cone and gaffer tape the 1st 6" to take away the sharp edges. Up on the roof with the coil via cat ladder and the free end of rope tied to a small but heavy weight lower down the chimney and have a mate start pulling the rope as you feed the liner down turning clockwise,it will try snag where the flu steps in but if you keep turning the liner as it gets pulled down it will go..oh and be ready for the mother of black dust all over the place

yeah id like someone try that on an extended step ladder at back of the chimney with a very long stainless steel flue liner going down the old fashioned high chimneys

aint that the truth! the mrs was kangoing the exit whilst i was feeding it down from the roof! 6m in it snagged lucky she is a good one! quick call on the mobile from the ridge

Hanging off the chimney pot the girlfriends had the string. Than on the we nose cone thing.

he got the easier chimney side not the elongated ackward on other side chimney or the split side chimney

where a rope or brick wont go down or that its full to the brim of soot and anything going down it gets you coated in soot dust at bottom
