As the chimney hadn't been swept since moving in ~year ago, decided it was time to give it a sweep. However, I quickly realised the fiberglass rods I borrowed were simply not going to get round the multiple bends.
In anticipation, I'd bought and was trying to use these brushes, which fitted fine on those rods: https://www.toolstation.com/minotaur-chimney-and-drain-brush-set/p63607
So, I ordered some of these (white superflex) rods: https://www.flexiblechimneyrods.co....tra-flex-flexible-rods-for-liners-with-brush/
which have certainly made it further than the fiberglass rods did, however the brushes I had are too large for the nylon rods. So what I need is an adapter from the smaller Nylon thread to the larger fibreglass/brush head size. I've done a bit of googling but its all mentions of Whitworth and odd threads that shamefully, I am simply not clued up on.
Does anyone know if there is a standard size used for the two rod types? Or is there a really crude way I can establish the threads with little more than a ruler/tape measure...
There aren't any local shops where I can stroll in with the two to try and get something matched up, so I'm reluctant to just throw money at adapters online till i happen to find one that fits.
Cheers
Harry
