Chilled iron blasting medium

Thinking about trying the above G17 because of it's re-usability and low dust. Just concerned about its vulnerability to rusting and 'balling' up in my pot. Only would be used occasionally in my workshop with no heating. Do you guys think this is a viable option?.

the iron will stick to the side of the pot inside as u get moisture in them then it rusts and builds up the only way to get it out once gone solid is if u have an inspection plate in your pot and u can bat the side of the pot and pull it out better off using copper slag. what size jet and comp u using

3mm nozzle, I have 2 compressors linked giving me at least 20cfm available.

What is that like for dust and re-using?

ui can use it twice if u sieve the fine dust out and the coarse bits if u can save it and re use it aluminium oxide would be ok but expensive and u would have to sive the bits out of that for a second and 3d use

What about crushed glass for low dust, I have an extractor fitted but with dry sand difficult to see anything when in use. This is my main problem.

be worth a try but I haven't used it so I don't know I omnly use fine glass beads for finishing without damaging the surface of materials

is it a small cabinet or large I think the sand in the smaller ones gets blown up all over giving bad visibility I have a mesh in the bottom of my cabinet and use a rubber mat on top and just the grid round the edges the spent sand drops through and your gun doesn't blow it back up causing a sandstorm

if there's a mesh base use a car mat or rubber on top as I said it stops the sand being blown up . I use a 4inch woodchip blower on mine and it sucks from the top side of cabinet with a fine mesh so it don't suck the decent grit out

I do have exactly that, after a couple of seconds can't see a thing. Got to change the medium, fresh start.

Crushed glass gets quite dusty after the 2nd use, it's really a single use media.

That said I've used it regularly in a blast room and kept recycling it until it disappeared into my filters. I wouldn't recommend it for a cabinet though.

Still at a loss, just want a medium to use a few time without dusting up too much. Am I asking the impossible?, I'll give some suppliers a ring and see what they suggest.
