Just found out I can scan/photograph a cheque on my banking app to pay it into my account so I don't have to go to the bank.

Yep it’s cool. Been around for a while now…. Think for my bank it was £250 max a cheque for personal accounts, now, thanx to Covid, £1000 a cheque … there’s a daily max deposit too.

Barclays have had the facility for a while, I love to see peoples faces when I do it as soon as they've given me the cheque when I say "That's paid in"

It's brilliant.

And yet certain companies still insist upon paying out via cheque - even when you pay by DD.

RBS app lets you pay in via a photo - recent thing.

This is a payment from my Virgin ISA - drawing some money out to finance a Lexus.

I pay in every month via DD, but they pay out via cheque

Haven't written a cheque in many years and can't remember the last time I went in a bank .

And thanks to my ex relieving me of every penny she could, I now check my accounts online almost every day. That, and being so mean it hurts . According to OH I have a complaint called Dermatightarse .

I scanned one in just last week, it went through no problem, but what a game taking the picture , ive a galaxy phone new , up to date but so awkward to get the picture of the cheque .

Only exception I made was from my kids school when I removed the swimming pool.
Dunno why their so reticent to get rid of them
