Cheapest steel suppliers you know of?

Would they want something in return, eg a sticky post that contains the code and link to their website?

Not sure how it would work or if there is an option to enter codes on their site but I think they would see the benefits from it though...An influx in sales size of orders etc...With the forums large member base.

I don't know how they do it.. brundles that is. They're so cheap that it's actually more cost effective for one of my regular suppliers to source from them, add their margin and supply to me, for some products like steel square bar. And they still come in miles under the other suppliers.

i did find a good one where i could buy mixed plate steel when i was building a rocket stove

at the time full plate sheets wasnt my thing and wasnt really needed

i was wanting mixed steel plate 5mm, 6mm and 3mm at the time the user had 3mm stainless steel box section 120x120

i bought 200.00 worth of mixed steel collection only and this is where some might think it wasnt worth it at the time it was worth highering a transit van and paying extra for fuel

van hire was 30.00 and the fuel charge was 20.00+ that gave me a good day out and loading and also i used it to go to a party

anyway back to me

ive been after the 3mm steel in the shed and looking for the 2 halves of the gas bottle that i cut in half as im building a new cooking stove

now i know brundles prices 2mx1m 80.00

1st 3mm sheet 1.5m x 890
2nd sheet bigger than the first both 35.00 each
3rd sheet was roughly the same
6mm steel 10.00 as i hadnt decided if i wanted a really thick top plate on rocket stove
30.00 for 125x125mm 3mm stainless steel
a couple of 5mm plates id say 800x 495, 700x450 and another or around that size i cant remember but i had 3 plates at that size

all for 200.00 so for what i would pay for in sheet steel and i still wouldnt have got what i wanted i got it in mixed steel

the cost of a transit hire i do drive so was easier to hire it for 35.00 plus fuel a half day out and like i said a party to goto at the evening
its not the first time ive done it that way either

ik this is old but guys BM steel is by far the cheapest ive seen free shipping too over 100quid 5% off when use their mobile app

I use fh brundle if I'm buying lengths, or if I need stuff cut to odd sizes rapid metals can be helpful, or if you want 1 small length of something, or an odd sized bit of plate etc.

I was on BM this morning, I struggled to find anything cheaper than brundles, im sure theres something, both are big websites, but even a 7.5mtr length square tube 50x50x3 is a clear 15 quid per length more with BM

Brundles in south wales are now a bit of a pain.

They have a new depot in Cardiff but not much stock, it comes from other depots to cardiff then out for delivery.

When it came from Southampton it was nearly next day.

Maybe given time being new it will be in line with the rest of their outlets. Almost 30 years back i used to use smiths, and hillfoot steel in leicester.
But it turned out cheaper for me to drive to brundles when they were in long Eaton once a week and collect and still make a saving.
I got the hump when that place closed down, It was a day out for me .
I think the closest branch to me now is Ilkeston.

Brundles do put the customer first. I ordered some stuff recently, some delivered by them and then two different couriers at 6 minutes apart. A bit daft (I could have waited) but can't really fault.
