Thanks @KramIf your only buying one gun, there is another consideration, will it do primer? That often wants a much larger nozzle to avoid over thinning. Therefore you want a gun with a 1.2-1.4mm for base and clear, plus a 1.7-2mm for primer. If the gun comes with, or has spares available..
I have two Ani's, the R150 mini gun and the much cheaper GF3 mini gun. They use the same body, main difference is quality of the nozzle.
No mini guns seem to have large primer nozzles available, so I modified the cheap GF3 nozzle to be ~1.7mm
I prefer the mini guns but, I generally only do small parts like motorbike stuff.
Amazon comes up with this, which appears to be their cheap full size gun.
Ani Ah1509003A Aerografo F1/N/S 1.8mm

This set has some good reviews and multiple nozzles.
What are you intending to spray, size, and with what type of paint?
However, I had the same choices and went with the more expensive option. This is the full size version of mine:
A.N.I. F160 PLUS-S HPS Conventional Gravity Spray Gun

This reminds me, I remember checking mine and appears I put it away slightly dirty with epoxy primer some time last year
I will try to spray some hammered paint with it as soon as it is not raining!
Then I better buy another one quick!I wouldn't. The hammer effect is done with silicon, making 'fish eyes'. That is the last thing you ever want in a spraying area, let alone a spraygun. If that is all you will ever spray then of course it matters not, bit it will contaminate the gun and surroundings for any other medium.
Thanks @Kram
I bought the
Ani Ah1509003A Aerografo F1/N/S 1.8mm
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ANI-AH1509003A-Ani-Airbrush/dp/B0862T9V6F
At less than £22 it must be worth a punt!
I will try and spray some hammered paint with it as soon as it is not raining!
I ordered the last one they had for immediate dispatch this morning. It will be here in a couple of days.

Taper is best, given its job is to seal the hole. I'd suggest making up a short tapered rod and using it with fine abrasive/ diamond paste in a die grinder to make the taper.MrMac - is it just a matter of drilling out the hole in the air cap or does it have to taper to match the needle?
Super thanks, I will read your links, I have a little tapered diamond bit for my dremmel that may be just right for that. Hoping there will s enough 'spade on the needle to just let it sit further forward as I don't have any spares or anything suitable to make one.Taper is best, given its job is to seal the hole. I'd suggest making up a short tapered rod and using it with fine abrasive/ diamond paste in a die grinder to make the taper.
The bigger hole will mean the needle seats further forward and may need modification or remaking.
The original needle is too long for a die grinder - it will bend off sideways. I had to remake the needle using one from a scrap cheapy gun and chances are I would have anyway.
Couple of my posts about it here:
Stuff you have made today
I'm thinking it's time to consign this multi tool conversion to the bin (along with the failed Aldi Ferrex one) and rue the day I didn't put the £23 towards a proper Makita one! That plus the £7.95 I paid for the Ferrex...plus filament, etc. Let's not talk about the hours wasted... The diode is...www.mig-welding.co.uk

Amazon do have another Ani but its in the 2.5mm nozzle size and Im quite certain I will never want to spray anything that thick... May be useful to somone..
However I note the various cheap amazon guns with multiple nozzle sets - the nozzles look identical to the Ani's R160/F160 and seem to be a better quality type, so that is what I would suggest.
I've actually had pretty good results with a Sealey 701 gravity.
Having a gauge on the gun to quickly dial in allowing for pressure drop really helps IME.
