I have been looking for a second hand one but they've all been miles away and some of the branded ones go for quite a bit. You got an absolute bargain there.
And lathe is a good excuse to buy a milling machine to complete the set.A press is a good excuse to buy a lathe, without one a press is incomplete
Bob
I've got a big old Tangeye press that's been converted to hydraulic. The definition of overkill given the two uprights are 3" solid forged round bars. I quite often hit 10t on the gauge before things start moving.
Just saying...
Think it does have a stamp saying as much. It came from a friend of @dieselsamurai for the princely sum of £100. After having the ram resealed it turns out it's a 700 bar enerpac ram in there...Probably built in Birmingham.

Don't discount second hand. I paid £40 for a 10 tonne Sealey floor standing press. Not the best but it suits me as a retired hobbyist.
I would buy this and see how it goes then when a better used one turns up sell yours. I have a Clarke 10T one rarely used but has been great the ones it can do I take to work or local garage, but I still keep it as its been worth owning. You can message me if you like. I've changed my settings to allow it.
By the way guys, this is the one I was looking at. 6 ton, £50 delivered The unbranded ones all look the same (to me anyway), but this was the cheapest.
I suspect this is a Chinese drop shipper operating via Robert Dyas? 12 ton is £80.
Museum of Internal Fire near Cardigan in West Wales have a twin cylinder Tangye diesel engine in running order. And a beautiful beast it is, too.I have an interest in Tangyes after I found out my great-great-Grandfather (and his brothers) "emigrated" from Cornwall to work at the newly opened factory in Smethwick in the late 1800's![]()
