I have been given a load of fence boards, pallets, decking tiles and general bits of wood and it need to be cut down so it will fit in the fire over winter.
In the past I have gone through 3 circular saws (one as I couldn't find a blade to fit, the other just wore out the motor), an electric chainsaw also gave up the ghost and a Reciprocating Saw would just end up rattling me to the bones. I usually just end up with a hand saw and taking hours to go at it.
So what would you learned people suggest? I was thinking of a chop saw as the circular saws usually work the best but it's knackering using one for long periods of time. Do you think this would work? Most of the wood is pretty thin, there are a few tree trunks which I will have to borrow a chainsaw to tackle.
I would spend some money (£100ish) if it was going to last but I usually just end up getting whatever is on offer with screwfix.
