Hi guys/girls been reading up on this forum for donkeys so thought it was time to take the plunge and post something.
Little bit of background.
I have been hobby welding on and off for the last 5-6 odd years mainly on cars as I was really into bodywork at one point in my younger years.
So let’s cut to the chase.
I have started building a kit car and the chassis is nearing completion. my question to you all is should I grind down my welds to fit the panels or make the panels fit over the welds? I am worried that grinding the welds back may weaken them although I am confident I have good penetration on all the chassis welds.
Below are some examples of my chassis welds for inspection
I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section (i'm new to this posting lark) but assumed as I was mig welding, the mig welding section was a good place to start.
