Chassis straightening.

My BIL has a 1945 Willy's Jeep that he is rebuilding that has a bent chassis! Looks like it's hit a tree stump, a big tree stump!
I've not seen it stripped down yet but I noticed it right after he got it so it's quite bent!!!
How, who, where can he get it sorted out?

There used to be a company called Truckalign in south London. Don't know whether they were a one-off or a branch of a bigger outfit.

I looked at a few crash damaged salvage cars many years ago, the approved repair then was (in laymans terms) to bolt the car to a solid framework and pull the bent bits back into shape.

Search for anyone advertising "chassis jig" or "accident repair centre" services.

It might be possible to do it with the car intact, but expect it to be easier for them (cheaper for you) if you strip it to just a bare chassis first.

It's already stripped down, just the gearbox to get out.

As BS has said, maybe a a square/oblong frame made out of s/hand rsj's to pull/push against and some large clamps....

They just use chains to straighten the chassis. If possible you're better off cutting out the bent bits and refitting new bits. Or consider a new chassis. I saw a competition chassis being made from scratch for a Jimney and its was not much more than £1000 as its just a simple ladder chassis.
