I bought a flow meter on line for Hobbyweld set up, it has a CGA 580 male fitting on it for the gas bottle thinking that 580 referred to 5/8 right hand BSP thread I went ahead and bought it, I have never heard of CGA apparently it refers to whole fitting with a 1/4 npt thread the other end which goes into the flow gauge it's near identical in most respects apart from 50+ thou and appears to have a metric thread form. I have looked for an adaptor for it that is female to 5/8 BSP male with no success I'm thinking of running a 5/8 nut die over it since it has the same TPI thread in fact I can't identify the thread at all I could certainly put up to cut it if could get access to a lathe, what other options are there?
