ceramic tiles for a workshop?

Good idea or bad idea?

Quite common in the usa. Guess it depends on how slippy it becomes when something is spilt on it

Steve Lang had black and white chess board style tiles but they weren't ceramic, Saw them just the once, looked great and easy to keep clean.

half inch quarry tiles bedded on cement never break no matter what you drop on them . I have them in the kitchen

Use an epoxy grout as well, will be watertight. You could also look at glass tiles but they are way more expensive.

Got the rubber floor tiles at work,
Do stand abuse even with 3tonnes for discovery over them.

Interesting, half my concrete workshop floor is chalky and makes it dusty, not ideal for engines etc. Vinyl floor tiles might be a cheap fix

Don’t know what you do in your workshop?

Langy was an exceptionally clean and tidy craftsman, his workshop was never dirty

I prefer a finished concrete floor with paint, it’s easy enough to keep clean

a few coats of pva adhesive even cheaper still and hard wearing

Thats whats on mine, cheap and stops the dust

I went for posh, epoxy garage floor paint - it has held up well, apart from where I've dug a wrecking bar through it shifting machines - I have a bit left still, for patching the pits.

Id have tiled walls in a workshop.
concrete with latex self leveling compound and a gritty paint would be my preference for the floors.
Bet they weren't cheap new

I used single component epoxy floor paint and it has gotten worn off in places.
