These things have always baffled me...just leave the normal shroud on, but if tip dip or if you are a bit tight, some veg oil and it's literally fine...almost as if the torch was designed to work like that...
Excessive spatter is either cheap wire, or poor technique. Yes you are going to get some, but a half decent wire and technique cuts the bulk of it down, tip dip sorts the rest.
It's like these coated nozzles you can get from temu now that claim spatter doesn't stick to them, then they show someone in the advert with a 4 inch arc length, terrible torch angle and the worst settings you can imagine, then with the special new nozzle on they suddenly have perfect technique and settings and say oh look, the nozzle fixed it...these sorts of things were only created as a way of parting people from their cash. You'd be better off blowing it on a Thai hooker for all the difference it will make to your welding.
