Cellulose paint removal

I need to strip an old car to bare metal because the top coat is peeling , be nice if I could remove the top coat only anyway in the real world what is a good stripper , had another look today and its got to be the whole car

Cellulose sands quite well, you could do a panel at a time and epoxy it straight away to prevent rust forming

what would I sand with? I have flap discs for an angle grinder

Don't go near it with a grinder it will leave bad marks, a DA preferably

If you dont have pro equipment to sand off old paint, 5 ltrs of heavy duty paint stripper from Ebay should do the job ok.

a brand like starchem , dont be buying stripper from the local diy store

if I was to use starchem what would I use to neutralise it and an anti rust undercoat

ive always scraped off the paint then rinsed the panel with water and dry it sharpish , not really keen on wetting the bare metal but you do have to be sure its all cleaned off

undercoat- epoxy would be best if not that etch primer

A bit stinky but cant you just use thinners to wipe it off? Too ineffective?

paint is quite thick so probably take a long time

thinners isnt really suitable for stripping whole panels

If rinsing the panel with water to remove traces of stripper you can add a corrosion inhibitor to the water like this one:-
