cebora Bi Welder

Hi all. Just won a Cebora Bi Welder 1665 on Ebay. It only came with MMA leads and gas hose. What type of tig torch can I use with it please? I want to weld up some fuel tanks for my narrowboat in 1.6mm mild steel. would the Weldcraft WP series be suitable? and does anyone know where to get foot pedals without having to sell a kidney to pay for them?

Weldcraft has become a bit like hoover in that the vast majority of torches are 'weldcraft style' and it's to do with compatability of torch consumables- collets/ceramics etc. There is no standard for the connections at the machine end so many (most?) torches come with 3/8 fittings and you add an adaptor as necessary. In your case a gas through dinse adaptor (first google pics hit, available from any decent supplier) to hook up a 'mono' torch (gas through power lead) to the Cebora. You'll also need a suitable plug for the on/off switch as again there's no standard.

Buy from a decent supplier and it should be as painless as asking for a torch to fit a Cebora 1665. Considering how little's inside a typical foot remote no one sells anything that's partically cheap. They seem to always start at around £200 in the UK. SSC controls in the States make VERY nice pedals for less than $200 but by the time they get here officially they ain't gonna be much cheaper. Several threads about home made ones on the forum

There's no provision for a Foot Pedal on that model. This TIG torch kit will fit, one with the smaller plug

I'm wrong actually, thinking more about it. Twas the 1350 model I was thinking of, which is an MMA machine with basic scrath-TIG facility. That torch kit won't be suitable.
