Couldn't find anything in the thread but can someone recommend a simple single self contained camera that can be simply hung from an upstairs window, or maybe attached to the wall next to it? Power wire can be run easily enough.
The only real purpose is to find out who, or what, is crapping in my daughters back yard. It's a terraced house where neighbours have right off way through the back, but she or I have never seen anybody take a dog through, or even one wandering around. But, she has seen a fox in the street several times, so be interesting to see if that's the culprit.

If it's from a dog I can only imagine a neighbour is walking their dog into my daughters gravelled back yard and leaving the mess behind. It's right where I park the car when I visit, so I have to be careful not to get a shoe full......

Just a cheapie wifi camera off of amazon will be more than suitable for that.
Latch it through the WiFi and app and then can see live access and motion alerts.

generally pointed ends about 2 inch long and have bits of hair in it

Agree, good cheap domestic choice, no need to wire, good battery life, take away easy when you don't need and repurpose, dead easy to setup and configure sensitivity
