After retiring from working in a automotive workshop all my life, I had always had access to good welding gear even for personal projects. But I needed to make another cave gate, and it had been many years since I last welded, and I did not want the hassle of gas, So I went and a brought a gas/gasless mig/tig/mma welder with good advice from this forum , after a few practice runs, it all started to come back to me, and was surprised just how clean the weld was (not much splatter at all). I managed to locate some 100mm x 50mm 3mm thick box section, this welded very nicely. This project used nearly 2kg of 0.8mm welding wire., so it was a good test for the welder which performed faultlessly. Looking forward to my next project.
Fitting in place, it is anchored down to solid bedrock using 10mm bolts.
