he's gone from ferrel cat to bed rat and he's called Horace , cause he's always hungry . been chipped and balled as he was a fighter ( not so bad now ) tollerated by the other two cat's so ( about two years ) i'm into the region of £600 so far which I very much doubt I'll ever recover he's a nutter . Oh and his markings are perfectly symetrical all over .he's missing a bit of ear too .

Is it a straight cut across the tip of the ear ? quite often cat charities would spey / neuter ferrel cats and tip the ear to mark they had been done a shooting ground I frequent has a small population of ferrels and they have all been done
Yes, she was a very vicious feral that used to visit the garden for food. The rest of her colony were captured by a cat charity but she managed to dodge them. She turned up one day in kitten so we sent her to the cats protection league who neutered her and cropped her ear. Only 2 of her kittens survived and nobody wanted her so we took her on. She’s now the most loving cat anyone could ever wish for.

Our erstwhile feral, Tarzan turned up the other day with a big lump behind his ear. Didn't seem to be bothering him much, and we thought he had been fighting.
The day before yesterday I saw that the fur was missing from the lump, and there was what looked like a small puncture wound in it. I went indoors and got the iodine horse spray and gave it a squirt. He shot off like a bullet and now will not come near, not even for food. He will not even come indoors for a warm up.
I put his food down in the garden, and when he came to eat it, I looked at it through a telescopic sight. The lump is still there, but now has a big scab on it, but I dont know if it is because of the condition, or if he has been scratching it.
As soon as I approach, he is off, so no chance of catching him, but I think if we did do this and took him to a vet, he would never come back. I have no idea how old he is, but don't want to lose him just yet.
I have been trying to get some antibiotics for him, to see if that would help, but vets will not give any, or prescribe without examination. Phoned a couple of rescue centres who will not help, and the local Cats Protection place is closed today.
As the treatments are Amoxicillin, I am going to feign earache, to try and blag some off the GP.

Thats the problem, you cant. No one in this country will supply. There are overseas one selling, but there is so much fake stuff out there, its a risk with what you are getting, and giving bank details

Having looked at length on the net. I would say its definitely an abscess.
The time factors given tie in with when he had a fight with another cat
Have seen videos of home treatment, but I can't see that happening with a cat. Especially a semi feral
