You are soft![]()
There's something satisfying about being trusted.I am not "soft" - I am actually the most cynical nasty garage owner you will ever meet.
But there is something about an independant stray feral yard cat that "touches my heart" - the reliability of them turning up at the same time daily for food. Same greeting from them - same affectionate expressions of trust. Like clock work - winter or summer. It is the routine that amazes me. Then fiding somewhere safe in your workshop to sleep thru the day - safe from harm - truly relaxing.
It is hard life being a stray cat - cold winters - cars - dogs - foxes - infection - territorial battles with bigger cats.
Everybody/everything needs a friend - someone reliable about them.
"It's a two way deal" - "a two way interaction"
Hold this thought "maybe the yard cat giving me more, than I am giving him"....?
Tennis ball! He's not like the stray at my hotel that just savaged my hand when I tried to make a fuss of him, he got about 6 jabs in before I knew what was going on
Blood everywhere
That was about an hour after getting smacked in the eye with a tennis ball thrown by my son, more blood from my nose and eyebrow![]()

You'll have to teach him the art of growing old gracefully. As some point he'll remember he is not as young as he used to be.
