05:45 reveille, our errant cat has a good voice but he needs to use it more sparingly when the morning twilight is still a decent sleep away. A cause for celebration on Saturday night, he used the litter tray for the first time which makes his enforced confinement more tolerable for all.

My errant cat prisoner of convalescence claimed his freedom last Saturday morning. Vet visits by car, for the first time in his life I am sure of, confined inside a house with two humans, fourteen days of comfortable hell. He didn't hang about when I opened his usual means of entry and egress. He returned for lunch and dinner and we suspect he made his way to my absent neighbours place to buddy up with/terrorise her cats. He's been back every day for two or three meals but has not stayed like he occasionally did before he was incarcerated, he is rather skittish as he was many months ago.

He is probably worried that you might confine him again.Meanwhile, our outdoor cat is spending more time indoors now. Still skittish and wary, but I have now lost my chair !
I think you are likely correct, daft they are not. He does not yet know it but he is line line to be captured again, I want him chipped so that he can use a chip reader cat door, if I leave the door not secured it will be chaos here with other cats spraying everywhere when we are out.
When we had two female cats we had this problem but after getting a ginger male there was a massive fight in the kitchen one night at 2am and never had a problem since. I guess word gets around the cat world.

Does that work off the same microchip that vets use for identification, or a different one. If so, who would insert it ?
The same identification indeed, the vet will do the deed, he submits readily when I take the scruff of his neck, they (nearly) all do. When he was on the examination table I took the skin on his neck while the vet took the drains from an abscess, he did not struggle. Fireman, signalman, station master?
I'm assuming in the role of vermin control and love the attention from customers. Are they strays that just hang about the station or do they live nearby?
Our Blue shorthair was the same. We got him a carebear thing when he was a kitten, came from McNoddles I think. It was apparently invisible when we were about, even if you threw it across the floor to skim past him. At night or when the house was empty barring him it would go for a walk, sometimes to another floor.I woke up last night and could hear something in the kitchen clumping away, I think it was the cat playing with his teddy. This is the teddy he will not touch if you're around but strangely moved around at night on it's own
